Fifty Things
If you haven’t been over to the Cambria website recently, you should check it out! We’ve recently installed a cool widget there that offers a new tip everyday on a way to “make today an occasion,” based on the idea that every day should be celebrated and special in some way. I love this idea, and I’ve loved the tips that have been up recently. My favorites so far have been the tip to perform a random act of kindness, and to dress up for dinner at home. But my all-time favorite was today’s, which was to write a list today of fifty things that you’d love to do!
Here’s what the widget suggests: “Make a list of fifty things you’d like to do. Maybe you want to learn Chinese or swim with dolphins, take a yoga class or travel to Italy. Find a quiet place to contemplate, pour a glass of Cambria wine, and take your time – you might surprise yourself.”
I did, and as I wrote I became more and more wrapped up it. The funny thing was that I’d thought I would run out of ideas, but the more I wrote down, the more inspired I felt. I hadn’t really thought about life goals for a while, and it felt really good to spend some time just thinking about all of the things I’d love to do with my life. Some of them don’t seem like they’ll happen anytime soon – but that is the good thing about dreams, they don’t have to be practical!
Here’s my list – I hope you feel inspired to write your own!
