Cambria in London
I’m back from London, and I had such an amazing time! It was so much fun to be in London, to visit the Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye, and the National Gallery, and to talk about wine with all of the wonderful people that we met!
As I said earlier, we were in England to celebrate the 80th anniversary of one of London’s most historic, iconic hotels, the Dorchester. As part of their 80th anniversary celebrations, The Dorchester hosted a special dinner on Tuesday at their restaurant The Grill, and Cambria Winery’s Tepusquet Vineyard Viognier, Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, and Bench Break Pinot were all featured!
Here’s a picture of the Bench Break Pinot Noir magnum that we opened for the dinner. I love that it has a Dorchester Hotel 80th Anniversary affixed. So cool!
The food at The Grill was delicious, just as I would have expected it to be! The style of the food they serve is ”modern British,” and all ingredients were seasonal, organic, and sourced from the British isles whenever possible. I really loved the pairing of our Tepusquet Viognier with the smoked eel parfait and apple jelly, and the Julia’s Pinot Noir with their truffle risotto was to die for!
As I mentioned, we also got to host a lunch featuring Cambria wines at Harrods, the famous department store!
Harrods was carrying Katherine’s Chardonnay, Julia’s Pinot Noir and Barbara’s Pinot Noir in their wine shop, which was very exciting!
In addition to the lunch, Harrods was having a food and wine tasting event at their store that evening, with various wineries pouring throughout their food halls, and we got to participate to. I thought it was one of the most beautiful locations for a wine tasting ever. Seriously, isn’t this space gorgeous?
After the various tastings, lunches and dinners, my mom, sister and I were able to relax all day Thursday, and were lucky enough to spend part of the afternoon having tea at the Dorchester! I’m not sure if it wouldn’t have been better not to go…ever since, I’ve been having cravings for scones, jam, and clotted cream. They were sooo good!
All in all, I’m so happy that I was able to visit! Thank you to everyone at the Dorchester for such a wonderful experience!

Katie said: They were great! I was a little apprehensive about trying snails, but I actually thought they were pretty good. The fennel Parmesan potato foam, though, was excellent! I could eat that all day!
